FAQs

Everything You Need to Know About Working With Us

What types of roofing materials do you work with?+
We work with asphalt shingles (including GAF Timberline HDZ), metal roofing, flat roof systems (TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen), cedar shakes, and synthetic options. We install GAF systems, and GAF shingles carry the manufacturer's Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty.
How long does a typical roofing project take?+
Most residential roof replacements are completed in 1–2 days. Larger homes, complex roof designs, or commercial projects can take 3–5 days. We'll give you a precise schedule with your written proposal.
Do you serve my area?+
Yes — we serve Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Our service area includes Philadelphia and surrounding counties, South Jersey, and Northern Delaware. Call us at (610) 616-3626 if you're not sure whether we cover your zip code.
How do I get my Free 27-Point Roof Report Card?+
Click Get My Free 27-Point Roof Report Card on any page, fill out our contact form, or call us at (610) 616-3626. We set a time to check your roof in person: all 27 points, each one photographed. The report shows what needs fixing now, what can wait, and what you don't need. No obligation.
Are you licensed?+
ALFE Roofing is licensed in PA — HIC #PA227632 — and insured. We're also GAF trained, through the GAF Roofing Academy's hands-on residential installation program.
What warranties do you offer?+
Our written workmanship warranty runs up to 10 years, depending on the job: 10 years on a new roof, porch roof, awning, or a skylight cut into a new opening; 5 on gutters; 5 on parapet coping; 2 on a skylight replaced on its own; and 1 on repairs (the repaired area). If it's our install, we fix it at no charge — see the full table. Materials are covered by the manufacturer: GAF asphalt shingles carry GAF's Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty, and standing-seam metal carries a 35-year Drexel Metals paint-finish warranty on painted Galvalume and aluminum panels (excludes Exotic colors). Details on request. Flat roof systems come with manufacturer-backed warranties ranging from 10 to 20 years.
Do you work with insurance companies for storm damage claims?+
We document storm damage with dated photos and a written estimate you can give your insurance company. We don't negotiate your claim — that is between you and your insurer.
What payment options do you accept?+
We accept check, ACH bank transfer, and credit or debit card (3% card fee). Your written contract sets out what is due and when. See payment options.
How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?+
It depends on the age of your roof, the extent of the damage, and whether the underlying decking is compromised. Roofs under 15 years old with localized damage often qualify for repair. Roofs over 20 years old or with widespread granule loss, sagging, or multiple leak points are usually better served by a full replacement. Our estimate includes an honest assessment — we won't recommend a replacement if a repair will hold.
What happens after I sign a contract?+
Once the contract is signed, you'll receive access to our customer portal where you can track every stage of your project in real time — from material ordering through permit filing, job completion, and final invoice. We'll notify you by email at each milestone, and your crew lead will contact you 24–48 hours before the start date.
